weekly announcements

The following are the announcements for the week of April 5th 2026:

Scent Request

Some in our church family have sensitivities to scents and chemicals. For the health and consideration of others, we’d like to ask everyone to please use unscented hygiene and cosmetic products on Sunday mornings. Thank you for your consideration.

Parking

  • Please be aware of the “no stopping” signs after the school parking on Evelyn Ave. People have been ticketed.
  • Also, please be aware to not park in other churches' parking lots. Thanks!

Resurrection Sunday

Photo Booth - TODAY

A photo booth has been set up for your use at the front right of the sanctuary. Please enjoy it’s use between and after services—and update your directory photos!

Street Preaching – Apr 12th

Though originally this was meant to be a Young Adult event, we decided to not limit the opportunity to any age group. So everyone is welcome to join Pastor Kenny as he teaches on what street preaching looks like, and then leads a team out onto the streets to experience preaching the gospel in the open air. This will start at 1:00 on Sunday, April 12th, and run all afternoon. Questions? kwallace@calvarybaptistchurch.ca

YA Dinner & Music Bingo – Apr 12th

All young adults (ages 18-30) are invited to the church on Sunday, April 12 at 5:30 for dinner and a fun music bingo evening. This will immediately follow the afternoon of street preaching, so whether you join that or not, you are welcome back for dinner.

Abigail Creach's Bridal Shower - Apr 19th

Calling all the ladies to join us at Abigail's bridal shower on April 19th at 1:30PM in the fellowship hall! If you're able, please bring a treat to share. More info on the Calvary Baptist Church Facebook page, or reach out to Miriam Eizenga.

Membership Class – Apr 19th

If you would like to become a member or have any questions about membership, please join Pastor Kenny in the office during the 11am service.

Marriage Weekender – May 8-9th

Do you think your marriage is worth investing in? Join, with other couples, on a Friday evening and Saturday, to spend time talking and working through the fine details of your marriage with your spouse. This will be a time set aside for you, without the distractions and responsibilities of your daily life, to focus on your relationship. We will enjoy video sessions, guided discussions, and fun together. If you have questions you can reach Pastor Kenny here. If you’re interested in joining us, you can sign up to attend at: calvarybaptistchurch.ca/marriage.

OVA Ladies' Retreat

Our annual retreat is a time for women of the FEB churches across the Ottawa Valley to connect, experience refreshment, and be encouraged through scripture, fellowship, and worship together. This year our speaker is Kathy Butryn, sharing from 1 Thessalonians 4:11 on the topic of "Keeping a Quiet Heart". A discounted registration fee will be available for a limited time. Worship Database Playlist

Do you sometimes find yourself trying to learn the songs we sing at Calvary on the fly? Do you want to know them in advance? Or maybe you know most of them already, but you want to belt them out at small group, at home, in the car, on the bus, in the shower, or wherever? Or maybe you want to teach your kids these songs? We’ve got you covered. We’ve put together a Spotify playlist with our entire worship database. You can access it at calvarybaptistchurch.ca/worship.

Sermon Manuscripts

If English is your second language and having a copy of the sermon would help you understand better, please let us know, and we’ll get you a printed or soft copy of the sermon. You can also get a copy of this week's manuscript here.
