The following are the announcements for the week of May 19:
Members’ Meal & Meeting – June 2
All members are requested to attend our 2nd Quarterly Business Meeting on June 2 at 5:00 p.m. Bring a dish to share for a potluck dinner, and then we will meet after the meal. This will include our annual election of officers, and nominations have been posted with the agenda at the exits.
Note: We need 2-3 more people to help with running the potluck itself. If you can help, please contact Elaine.
Our compassion team will be meeting after the 11:00 service today to put food together for the Ottawa Mission. Meet downstairs.
Save the date. June 1st we will be doing an important event for our neighbourhood. Please start thinking about things you can give away to others. This event is meant to be an expression of generosity to those around us.
Phil Vince & Lydia Okum would like to invite you to join them for their wedding ceremony on Saturday, May 25, at 1:00p.m. here at the church.
Baby Shower for the Nevelizers
Come and celebrate the upcoming arrival of baby Nevelizer on Sunday, May 26 at 1:30 p.m.! We're counting down the days! This co-ed shower is happening at basement of the church! The soon-to-be parents are registered at Walmart.
Road Closures: Next Weekend
A number of key roads will be closed next weekend for the Ottawa Race Weekend, including Colonel By Dr., Queen Elizabeth Dr., and the Pretoria Bridge. Make sure you plan your route to church accordingly! Also, Colonel By will be closed to vehicle traffic for the rest of the summer on Sunday mornings for bike days.
Grandparenting Matters Seminar
Calling all grandparents: A special seminar is being held for you on May 24-25 at the Metropolitan Bible Church, which seeks to help you find inspiration, ideas, and toold to realize your potential to grandparent in a meaningful way. Register here.
There are a number of great new books in our library. However, with the prayer time being in the library between services, it may be harder to check books out. So be sure to peruse and take a book out either before the 9:00 service or after the 11:00!
Some in our church family have sensitivities to scents and chemicals. For the health and consideration of others, we’d like to ask everyone to please use unscented hygiene and cosmetic products on Sunday mornings. Thank you for your consideration.
If English is your second language and having a copy of the sermon would help you understand better, please let us know and we’ll get you a printed copy of the sermon.
