The following are the announcements for the week of July 7:
Summer Small Groups
We will have 3 short-term small groups that will be meeting over this summer. Starting July 14, the group at Bridgehead be meeting at 4:00 p.m. in church to study Philippians. Also, two new groups will be starting: Transforming Prayer (5 weeks, June 26-July 31, East), and Young Couples: The Meaning of Marriage (8 weeks, July 4-September 5, South). To sign up, email the church.
Church-Wide Picnic Lunch
In order to share some good old fashioned summer fun and church fellowship together (from both services!), we invite you to a picnic lunch at 12:30p.m. on July 14. This will take place at Springhurst Park, just down the road at the end of Evelyn Ave. Bring your picnic lunch for your family, a blanket, outdoor games/sports, sunscreen, and maybe even water balloons, and come on out!
A special welcome to all our new members at Calvary, who were approved to join our membership earlier this month: Adryano Rocha & Gabriella Andrade, Joel & Ana Bernandino, Andrew Kozely, Austin & Alyssa Mejia, Josh & Martina Philipson, Samantha Rudd, Francisco “Icko” Santos, and Jessica Tao.
Gardening Help Needed
Volunteers are needed to care for the Church gardens: clipping bushes and trees; weeding; purchasing and planting annuals; fall clean-up. Email Pastor Bob or Marylyn McRoberts for further details.
Moving Help Needed
There is a need for people to help unload a moving container for a family that is brand-new to Ottawa on July 16. If you can help, please talk to Phil Latortue
As announced in our member’s meeting earlier this month, we are excited to work together on another refugee resettlement to Canada. Stay tuned for details on how you can help be part of this team. In the meantime, if you already know you want to help, please contact Michel Choueiry
If you are interested in being baptized, we are planning a baptism for August 18. Email Pastor Matt
There are a number of great new books in our library. However, with the prayer time being in the library between services, it may be harder to check books out. So be sure to peruse and take a book out either before the 9:00 service or after the 11:00!
Some in our church family have sensitivities to scents and chemicals. For the health and consideration of others, we’d like to ask everyone to please use unscented hygiene and cosmetic products on Sunday mornings. Thank you for your consideration.
If English is your second language and having a copy of the sermon would help you understand better, please let us know and we’ll get you a printed copy of the sermon.
